- my critique - the man still looks noticeably dropped into the shot. The lighting on his body ought more closely match the lighting right around him. There's a strong blast of light hitting the ground directly behind him; chances are some of that light will hit his shoulders, top of his hat, etc. His edges would also start to blur from the light.
And, though it might make him harder to see, his front side would be more in silhouette due to standing in front of the light.
Nonetheless it impact and vision are still there. And gotta love the dutch angle shot; it just amplifies with all those geometric shapes also corresponding to the diagonals, don't it.. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="

Its a real pain as I've been getting this one ready for ages for the National print awards. I even printed it on Silver paper - looks awesome. Sent em off, but unfortunately took this photo more than 2 years ago, so it's been declined, along with the 3 other photos I spent lots of time and money on. Real annoyed at myself at the moment. I also dont have anything else to waste more money on entering that Ive taken in the lest 2 years.

The man almost seems to fade into the mass of pipes, so you really have to look to get a good view of him c:
