Poor boys! Aw, Maedhros just let it go! Would it make you feel better if Elrond and the Valar told you that you're forgiven? If Bilbo and Thorin can forgive each other and vice versa. You can be forgiven. Bilbo and Thorin both have done stupid things and they didn't have any Oaths controlling them!

This is well done.

The only problem with said 'slash potential' is that 'elves do not wed with kin so near' and that Tolkien has his elves as heterosexual monogamists. The picture is very nice, though Fingon's face seems a little lopsided somehow.

Tolkien said elves marry with the intent of conception. Hope no one gets mad at me about it, but its true! Further, sex = marriage according to Tolkien. Rape = literal death for elves, also Tolkien. This kind of removes any chance of gay elves... Oh, and Fingon was married in the original Silmarillion. Tolkien changed his mind later (likely to make the story sadder) but that definitely indicates that Tolkien believed Fingon to be heterosexual. Not to mention that elves have such strong incest taboos that they cannot have such feelings for one so close in kinship.
Man. I just read this and realized I know WAY too much about elves. I'm really a Tolkien nerd, aren't I?

well, like I said, according to canon it's not likely, but that doesn't mean I can't dream, does it? As for Fingon being married, I know, but facts are changed around so much with some of the characters in silmarillion, particularly Fingon, that it's hard to keep track half the time and it's not like his wife actually makes an appearance as far as I remember
In any case, even if Maedhros and Fingon could never be together because of the reasons you state, it's still a fact that they share a deep bond and bonds of love can be non-sexual as well.

That is true. Their love is that of brothers and kinsmen... I was just making the point that even the feeling of sexual love is impossible by Tolkien's rules.

Well, at least read the comments on it. It explains a lot about elven culture and sexuality.

Pretty O_O
I love the outfit on the one in the back and the face & hair of the one in front (I have not read Silmarillion and never will, so I don't know them... But they're so pretty X-D)...
