Concept art for an online friend's idea of a Transformers/Macross/Wing Commander crossover. Maybe gundams in there too. I can't remember! Anyway, this is the designated Heavy Strike Bomber (so of course I drew it first), designed to deliver eight Kilrathi-busting torpedoes. I was told it was too heavy to convert to full Battroid (I think that's what they're called!) mode, so I drew it in GERWALK mode, with the wing-mounted torpedoes fully displayed. It's a quadruped! There are /verniers/ in there too, Brent!Drawing mecha makes my eyes bleeeeeeeeeeeed. ;.; This hurt. One down, five to go. Belatedly, I realize this looks like a centaur GERWALK Earthscorch (pics of HIM are buried in my dA scraps section [link] ).
PS: Dear everyone's copyright owners that I'm infringing upon, please don't sue me! *innocent*
PPS: As per 's astute observation, sly Sweep that he is, the image has been slightly edited to include the proper depression for the vernier on the (viewer's) rightmost upper torpedo nacelle.

The funny thing is that there's actually a VF-14 unit in the Macross mythos already, and it's a small skinny fighter with weird bits stuck to the sides. Not like this at all.

It was more the fact that it was totally different from the "real" VF-14 that made me giggle.
...Actually, looking at this, I'm not sure the VF-14 Vampire HAS a GERWALK mode. o_O;

I decided that quadruped would be appropriate to the weight. Brent's the one that came up with the number and basic concept.

Cool. ^_^ The only other thing I can think of approaching that weight class is the Koenig Monster: It doesn't become a quadruped, but the legs are massive in order to provide recoil for the railguns it mounts.

Well, I don't know how much of any of this nonsense I talk about is around online. >_>; Most of my Macross knowledge comes from my big pile of reference and design books. Same goes for Gundam. TF's are all in my head. ^_^

Source books are wonderful thing. I have a book filled to the gills with aircraft cross sections and cutaway views. I should really use it to do some sweet battle-damage art, /some day/.

What the heck is a VA-6? O.O I guess I'll have to look it up. And I actually ws thinking a lot about the Avro Vulcan actually when doodling out the wings and cockpit. However, I jokingly have said several times that it's a variation on this fellow here [link] .

Hey, I just noticed that the top torpedo tube on the right is missing its cutaway section underneath the airbrake/armor-flare thingy. Do I get critique points, or can I just expect a painful visit from Fusi's wing blades when next she catches my sorry Sweepaft?
