Description I prepared this as a freebie by way of thanks to Michelle Therese for bestowing upon me a shiny premium DA account.

Figured I'd try something a bit different here.

And yes, I do undertake commissions. But I must insist that you only ask if your interest is serious.

It was gonna be more complex, but I figured there was no need to mess with it as it was already working.

I'm glad you're pleased with it!

Proportions were a solid nightmare to get right, I don't mind telling you. I've learned that, whereas I draw human heads and faces as one object most of the time, I have to split them apart and work on them as seperate objects with these characters.

If not for my copy of 'The Complete Ark', I don't think I'd have got a handle on that helmet. At first glance, it's pretty daunting!

that's why i chose to draw hook first ~ his head was much less complicated. and i have that complete ark too!

That book is fantastic. As a working reference for drawing teh characters, you can't go wrong. It gives you a good map of all the details you need to make the characters recognisable.

I'm putting the finishing touches to an HdE-formers style comic strip where I had to do designs in that style for a number of characters, and the Complete Ark saved so much time!

Awesome!
One of my dearest TF characters rendered in a HdElicious manner!

can i put him in my gallery so i can put him in a feature box? all credit to you of course!

hmmm there's no "request as print" option. i always thought that was automatic but do you have to initiate that?

As it's fan art, the work automatically gets disqualified form the print service.

But not to worry! I've sent the full size file to your email. If you use a high quality setting on your domestic printer, you can sort yourself out with a nice A4 printout at home (I'd recommend landscape format, FYI).

I've got no problem with you featuring the image on your page - but it might be worth checking DA's policies on displaying work created by others. Don't want to see you getting grief for art theft now, do we?

ok! now i understand the no print option.
i've seen lots of other people feature other people's work, with credit to the real artist. it must not be a problem? as long as proper credit is given? and permission obtained first, of course lol

The details will be in the help section somewhere. But it should be absolutely fine.

He's just lovely, HdE!!
I have to find a way to print him out so i can frame him on the wall over my artwork area. He'll make a perfect inspiration when i'm writing or drawing! Good 'ol Red Alert. Thank you so much!

£30!!! a premium didn't cost that much!! wow.

what is the "hidden by owner"??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hde2009 In reply to SheepSlave [2011-01-05 12:43:44 +0000 UTC]

Yup - £30.00 - but worth the effort for one such as yourself, no questions asked.

Note that that's '£30.00 for work done to a similar standard and style', not, alas, '£30 for a copyrighted character that Hasbro can carpet-bomb me from orbit for making money out of.'

The hidden comments are nothing to worry about. I've removed them to spare somebody's embarrassment is all.

As for printing - see my other reply.
