Yup start off with a kind of head shaped mass, with some extra bumps for ears go gangbusters from there!

monomauve [2008-09-23 10:39:10 +0000 UTC]

do you know that eyes have allways the same width? 2,4 cm cross-section. I take only this size for all modells.

HazardousArts In reply to monomauve [2008-09-23 10:56:26 +0000 UTC]

Yup, definately but its too mechanical of an approach for me, to sit down and measure everything and get everything in the right place before i start sculpting in my lunchtime, these are just fun and i learn from them too

I just have a sphere with bump for ears on it and i see what i come up with in 30 minutes ~ 1 hour facewise. Give it a shot and see how you go

The moment you become rigid in art, with measurements ala davinci man style, the less of an artist you will become - great guide but not everything needs to fall within those boundaries - free your mind!

Much more of an artistic approach to mash around and play with things and see what the result is!!

ok, Iยดll model something in 60 min ;o)
it was no critic on your work! your models are cool! very cool...
I play with z-brush a lot. I knew what you mean.
oh..my english XD sorry man

HazardousArts In reply to monomauve [2008-09-23 21:18:24 +0000 UTC]

no man, hahah sorry dont misunderstand, im not trying to defend my work - I totally agree with you my eyes are wrong size, and generally different sized every time i make them haha!!

But what i also was trying to say was - i try not to approach my works with measurements in mind, not when im purely practising - kind of a break from when you do need to work with measurements ( like at work during 8 - 10 hours each day ) its great to break free from this 'normal' art and go crazy to learn!
