CROSS:It's Story Time!

It was a beautiful summer morning and Sylveon awoke to the soft sunrays that beamed into the den -CRASH- and the sound of her son who was trying another one of his crazy stunts. "*yawn* already," Sylveon rubbed the remaining sleep from her eyes using her arm-like extensions. She stretched out before making her way outside.

Though the sunlight greeted her within the den it shined even brighter once she stepped onto the soft grass that blanketed her home. "Mama," a happy little Eevee bounded over to her.

"You're finally awake!" Eevee bounced around his mother only to stop short in front of her with a sudden pout.

Sylveon may have been awake but her mind had yet to catch up with the rest of her body, "What is *yawn* the matter sweet-heart did you hurt yourself again?" Eevee looked down for a second flicking his tail, messing with a blade of grass that had grown longer than the patch around it. Sylveon stretched her feelers, lifting her son's head up.

Eevee pulled away from his mother before speaking, "You said that Skitty would come back but she hasn't and it's already been a week!"

A shock of remembrance shot through Sylveon. She had forgotten her own words she promised to her son. They were meant to be words of comfort but in reality they were simply an empty promise in hopes the Eevee would forget all about it. A week ago Eevee and SKitty were playing in their favorite place "Flower Meadows". Skitty as Eevee's closest friend that lived on the opposite side of the meadows, would often come over to play. They always meet at the same time every day when the sun was at it's highest. On one particular day when Eevee was waiting for little Skiity; who always came on time, didn't show. Eevee waiting for hours, eventually the sky changed into a yellow-ish orange gradient and finally Eevee left home, ears and tail drooping.

What he didn't know was that his mother, Sylveon was out herself earlier that day and witnessed the unthinkable! Their home appeared to stretch forever with nothing but green grass and colorful flowers but beyond the Flower Meadow was a trail the humans traveled and just on the other side was Skitty's home. It all happened so fast, Sylveon picked some fresh berries to go with the meal she had caught; a Rattata, when she saw Skitty prancing over. Knowing she was on her way to see her son Sylveon turned back to carrying dinner home-

"Nyaaaa!" Skitty cried as her body flew into the air.

Sylveon dropped the berries in astonishment. A trainer had attack Skitty with a Pokémon of their own. It was a Zangoose, it flexed it's claws with satisfaction of it's victory as it's trainer threw the round ball that took the freedom away from wild Pokémon. Without thought Sylveon bolted down the hill but just before she could reach them the ball clicked and the trainer took Skitty away.

"Mama?" Eevee's voice snapped her out of her nightmare of a memory. Sylveon looked back down at her son and pulled him into her chest hugging him tightly as if she hadn't seen in a long time. Eevee once again contended his mothers grasp, "Why haven't you answered? When will Skitty come back?"

Sylveon gazed into the clouds in hopes that the answer would form in them but of course that didn't happen which left her no choice. "She will, it won't be long now." She bit her lip as guilt swallow her whole. "Let's go play in the meadow while we wait for her." Sylveon was at a loss. It was harder for her to tell the truth and felt that lies give them both a since of comfort...even if it was a only a small piece of it.

Eevee made sure to be the first to dart around the flowers sending them flying through the air. Sylveon ran to catch up and playfully tackled her pup as they rolled around. Both were out of breathe and laid in the grass(Little moments like these are worth the lies) Sylveon thought.

"I bet dad is the strongest Pokémon by now!" Eevee yipped, being youthful his energy return alomost instantly and he crouched down pouncing on a unsuspecting bug Pokémon. Another lie from before had re-surfaced. His mother sat up no longer feeling the temporary peace.

Espeon, Eevee's father and Sylveon's mate was another victim to the capsule ball. Sylveon simply told their child that his father left to get stronger so that he could protect them from the trainers who seek to catch them. She didn't realize it before but the pink Pokémon actually had a bad habit of lying whenever she didn't want someone to get hurt. So far she hasn't gotten into trouble for it-

"When I grow up I'll help Papa to protect you. Then when can all be together forever!"

Yet.......

So I just made this story up on the spot. Tell me what you thought. I would wonder how Pokémon were effect buy being caught by Pokémon trainers. Like they could possibly have not only friends but families and a trainer could some out of nowhere and catch that Pokémon without thinking about the life they may have been living. I'm not looking to turn these short stories into anything series they're merely helping me better my story writing.

Sylveon is my favorite Eeveelution by the way but I still love every single Eeveelution. Fairy types period are my favorite.

I did this in Photoshop only because the file was too big to transfer to SAI but the techniques I learned from SAI helped me make this picture as beautiful as it has turned out to be.
