Thank you! I've never been able to get to grips with oil pastels since, sadly. Either the formula of the new ones is off or the papers I like have changed because they don't adhere right.

very impressive piece. I've looked at lots of Alien creations here on dA, & this stands out as one of the best. purely down to the fact its different from the others.
Its brilliantly done & unique, not the same pose as most i've seen. & use of light, shade & colour is excellent.

Boo YA! That's gorgeous and creepy...everything Alien stands for. I find black paper rocks when you want to draw aliens or their nests. It just works and you handled it like a REAL pro!

I was so very immersed in the alien headspace when I did this piece (sighs fondly while everyone backs away nervously) I'm glad you like it! Yes I agree, the black paper is perfect for drawing aliens and their nests. I haven't been able to find black paper with quite this texture again sadly, the stuff I have now is too glossy and won't take oil pastels.

I find good ole black construction paper is great. And many craft stores sell black paper drawing pads...I think I'll draw something on black paper today

I love the original design for the Warrior. Badass. I hate the new design they have for AVP2 because it's basically the Drone's body from AVP with a huge butchered Warrior head.

Only with fringes! I see what you mean about the head. I quite like the modelling of the hands on the new hybrid though. Maybe the new design will look better on celluloid. Or at least blurrier.
