You did a real good job with the whole pink and red tones! Usually it can look just bad or blend together but you can tell what everything is here and nothing clashes! 
I just adore your pixel art! You actually inspired me to get back into it....tho, I'm starting my way down size wise.

Thanks! It really took some time to find out how to get the palette to work, though I'm glad I made it work in the end.
I just rarely work with pink, so using it in my works is sometimes really challenging.

A static icon is 25 points, so that would be 50 points in total for two icons.
As far as group avatars go:
Something like this (Groupname+simple border) would be 30 points.
Something detailed like this one would be 50 points. I hope that answers your question!

Most effort went into the line work and color-picking to be honest. After that, the coloring is a breeze.
It's just a bit hard sometimes to find colors that match, yet still somewhat contrast and are neither too dark or too light.

You should totally give it a try when you find the time! Small works like these can be relatively easy to make depending on the amount of detailing you put in there and there are loads of tutorials to be found on dA.
