technically he wasn't tricking, he was never asked to tell the truth. the sad part is that the girls were never meant to know about the truth which means that kyubey doesn't have to tell the truth before its too late. something tells me that there's a main villain that kyubey is serving that is making the space ferret do all of this

Well yeah, he sorta found ways to persuade the girls in a way that made them want to take the contract without ever telling them the consequences.
There are probably many other Kyuubeys or like a main villain or something like you said.
