I love Howl's Moving Castle. Absolute love. The original novel by Diana Wynne Jones is my favorite novel of all time, and while it's completely different, I also adore the Miyazaki movie. I love cosplaying Howl, and while it's by far the simplest, I like my Child Howl outfit best. This picture was taken by Hitori at a photoshoot in the rain a year or so ago. In this picture, I'm trying to express Howl's heartbreak upon realizing exactly what he'd done when he made the pact with Calcifer. (My original title for this picture when it appeared on Cosplay.com was "Sad Boy in Rain," both a picture description and a joke on the "sad girl in snow" cliche.)Related content

I've never actually gotten to see the movie. I got bitter about it when I found out from my friends that it deviated from the book. xD

Yeah, it really does deviate from the book. A lot. I hated it when I first saw it, but it's really grown on me. I just had to stop thinking of it as a true adaptation and think of it as a separate story with similar characters and plot, and thinking of it that way makes it a far far better movie.
