Have youΒ ever seen the Hitchhiker? Is that the name of it? I dunno, but the one where he's the murderous hitchhiker. Wow. Scary.

No, Blade Runner is the only film I have seen with him in it. I will have to check it out Β

If you're in the market for villains, I would also recommend the work of Anthony Perkins (original Psycho by Hitchcock). Different kind of villain but no less terrifying. Y'know, on that note, Anthony Hopkins as well!

What's more brilliant is that it was improvised on set in the final hours of shooting.

It was. He was given a script but didn't like it, so he added that himself at the end. Brilliant man.Β

What I've read says that it was indeed improvised but not an inspiration of the moment. Hauer has said that he was contemplating on his lines the night before the shooting and he deemed them as "inappropriate" -the original soliloquy was much more verbose and thus "unfitting" to the feel of the moment.Β  So he decided to use the version we all are lucky to know now.
