I must say that this is probably my favorite piece of your gallery, Mr. Robert. I was lucky to come across your gallery through a journal entry from today, and was stunned by your artwork, but mainly this one. You see, I am a huge fan of dogs, and I was stunned to see this gorgeous painting, and even more stunned to find out that it was painted with watercolors. You included so much detail in the beautiful dog's fur, giving it the touch of reality. I hope to see more work from you soon, and would like to see more dogs like this. Excellent work; it's inspiring to see from such a prestigious artist like yourself.

I think about two weeks. The background is mostly layers of washes. The dog had to have a lot of time-consuming dry-brush.

Of my car, it is indeed a photo. Of the dog, that's my niece's dog which I painted in watercolor--not a photo. I guess you figured it out. Thank you.

As well you should. My sister told me that a Border Collie, if ever struck in anger, would result in the destruction of their character. No dog should be hit, but it sounds like this breed is especially sensitive.

Very true. We had one like that from a rescue centre that has been treat not very well before hand. Lovely dog, quite the eccentric. Our present dog is sort of a collie, but of the short-haired, long-legged ginger type!
