Was I the only one who was bothered by the fact that her wand was taped together and yet it still worked while when Ron's broke, it wouldn't work? Is it just because Bellatrix is more experienced or just that no one thought of it...?

It was! If you watch the movie, you notice it's crooked and taped together. Remember, when you go to Askaban, your wand is snapped in half. She just taped it back together.

It's crooked because of the design of the wand. I'm 99.99% sure it isn't really taped up. SHe probably got a new wand.
