Beautiful.

I love the look of the dried brush and trees. The water is stunning. And I love the brush strokes in the sky portion...they make me happy. Ha.

the water's so realistic and beautiful! There are art teachers whose paintings not as good as yours. you really have a big talent

art teachers? Do you mean Bob Ros? ))))

Jadesweetboxx In reply to Hangmoon [2013-04-10 07:56:05 +0000 UTC]

well... honestly, i like your painting style better than Bob Ross' xD so yes lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to Jadesweetboxx [2013-04-10 08:45:51 +0000 UTC]

watching Bob Ross - is the main mistake of many beginners He show how to paint without any art predisposition, you just repeat simple steps - no using your brain. I like Richard Robinson [link] - lessons(but most of it paid ) and some russian teachers (i can give you link on youtube, but they speak russian in this lessons) other good teacher is the Zhaoming Wu, you can find his lessons on torrents, or buy it

I took a peek on Bob Ross' tutorial, but it confuses me. Yeah!like you said, not methodical at all...he was just like 'just have fun!' and i was staring at my PC monitor, totally lost O.O lol so i didn't use his.

Thank you so much for the link! i will try their free lessons for the first step for sure and i totally will check Zhaoming Wu out
Thank you so much for your precious input. I'm planning on studying Fine Art major in a couple months (if i'm accepted..) so this will help me a lot...

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-10 10:10:17 +0000 UTC]

sorry, I confused with which art you comment, this art was drawed by 1 week, not longer, as I remember. Oil pictures takes not very much time versus CG(exclude multilayers oils)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-10 20:50:04 +0000 UTC]

Wah Understood! CG is really slow...
However I prefer oil pictures, they're capturing

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-11 08:30:40 +0000 UTC]

that art directions have a different tasks, cg is more plot, and oil - more praise beauty

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-11 16:01:49 +0000 UTC]

Yep ^^ which one do you prefer to do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-11 19:53:01 +0000 UTC]

cg is more artistic, oil - is more craft, I prefer CG

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-12 13:21:10 +0000 UTC]

Really? I thought that artists who make traditional art always prefer it over CG. Guess I was right ^^ thanks for answering

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-13 11:09:35 +0000 UTC]

they are just conservative

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-13 11:28:21 +0000 UTC]

But I find traditional artists more interesting than cg artists... actually Cg is open for everyone, because you need precision and an eye for colours, computer can do the rest.
I'm not against Cg, you see, it's only that traditional art needs a lot more, thus I think it merits.
Cg art has a better outcome, though.

However! Sorry for the long speech. I meant you're great at traditional and I expected you to prefer it... Which one took longer, Cg or traditional?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-13 18:57:30 +0000 UTC]

traditional art is faster - because one you add oil dub, you cannot really fix it, and redraw, the art is finished then you cover all canvas... but at CG - you can add more and more fixes, until picture begin brilliant. And also - one very important thing - classic oil painting mean copy from nature = mynd off, only color theory... My strong side is color thats because my oil paintings looks good for beginner. I like work with oil mixing , but CG is more interesting

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-14 21:37:02 +0000 UTC]

Understood... Than when you do traditional is always nature-inspired?
Ah Happy birthday!! ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-15 09:18:17 +0000 UTC]

at traditional I more inspired by the lights and shadows [link] - for example.

thanks

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-20 11:43:34 +0000 UTC]

And digital? you try realistic approach?

(sorry it took long)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-21 10:23:48 +0000 UTC]

what do you mean? I love more colorfull pictures, maybe little impressionistic style(about colors)[link] - something like this - many color spots. it's interesting.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-21 13:40:23 +0000 UTC]

You're right ^^
Then you prefer traditional because you can play with colors... but you prefer digital because it's more complete, isn't it? Or something like this...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to DogsAndRoses [2011-10-24 10:24:33 +0000 UTC]

yes and also if I imagine picture on my wall - it must be somthing warm light and relax, but if at my desktop - it can be everything beautiful

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DogsAndRoses In reply to Hangmoon [2011-10-26 13:40:34 +0000 UTC]

Oil paintings are so hard x_X you did a fantastic job!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hangmoon In reply to VelCake [2011-04-09 22:06:05 +0000 UTC]

to be honest - CG is harder, because at oil painting you always copy from nature or foto... but oil have an other targets and tasks.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1
