This shot is simply beautiful. Where do I start? The lighting is perfect. The flare adds that special effect to the whole image. The fact that the veins in the petal are visible is superb. The unfocused background of blue is such a sharp contrast against the petals. I like the way the light makes the petals look transparent. I like that the focus is on the end of one petal rather than the middle of the flower. It makes the green stem catch your eye in the corner. It evokes happy feelings, well at least from me, it does. Awesome capture.

I love this photo because of the bright contrast between the colors, and I noticed the lens flare before I read your comments. That works especially well to give the work some depth as it appears in perspective.
