TECHNICAL REPORT

MJOLNIR MARK VII[b] Advance Powered Armor System GEN1


UNIT ASSIGNMENT: The MJOLNIR MKVII[b], like all MKVII variants has very limit deployment due to unit production cost, with an average cost of cR 150 million. The MKII[b] features many improvements from the GEN2 line of armor.


Units that have been assigned MJOLNIR MKII[b] are listed below:


  • Guardian Program (10 Units)

  • Fireteam Delta-6, Team 4 (2 Units)

  • Fireteam Delta-6, N Division (7 Units)

  • Crimson Guard (5 Units)


  • Below are technical specifications that are improvements over other MJOLNIR Powered Armor Systems. Some equipment are optional and are listed as such.


    Inner Components


    Inner skinsuit: Improved users comport with new materials, added access ports for medical and natural user excretion making catheters obsolete. Secondary contact neural interfaces installed for improved and redundant capabilities.


    Liquid Metal Crystal Piezoelectric Layer: Uses new less toxic materials (non toxic to users who have undergone augmentation). Slight increase in speed and strength compared to GEN2 MJOLNIR. Required electrical field requirements greatly reduced. In emergency situations, the neural energy of the user can supply minor usage of the system for short periods of time without a power source. Reports from testing users, have claimed that it requires great deal of mental concentration to operate without a power source. Some models have an emergency power source in case of primary power source is damaged.


    Artemis Tracking System ATS: Advance Sensor and Analysts system. Firmware 0.65 is standard issue, 0.7 is issued to special units.



    Pressure Seal: Self Sealing layer added to, prevent seal leaks in case of suit damage. Manual single hand lock added to helmet seal location, to prevent helmet from dislodging under extreme pressure.


    Quick Donning System: Unique system that allows the user to don the armor unassisted in less then a minute.


    Titanium Compound nanocomposite Bodysuit: New Titanium compound is used, known as Titanium-A5/Theta. It is electrical neutral making more resilient to energy weapons then previous bodysuits, and field reports have said that it is capable of significantly reducing the damage from Covenant Energy Swords. Titanium-A5/Theta only produced in deep space in a true zero gravity environment and adjusted at a nanoscopic scale. Using superheated plasma and electromagnetic waves, the nuclei of the Titanium is also altered for increase performance qualities. Armor qualities have been improved.


    Medical Injectors: In addition to bio foam application and injections, other medicines can be administer. For more information see: Technical Report MKIII Advance Medical Application Kit.


    Force-multiplying Circuits: Improved Strength and Sensitivity. New adjustments to the circuits improved stability in the forearms and hands to improve weapon manipulation and usage.


    Reactive Circuits/Neural Interface: 15% Improvement over GEN2 system. External output for use with compatible Jetpacks and new larger experimental exoskeleton systems, see Tyrfing Project.


    Lockdown system: Improved user survivability.


    MJOLNIR MKVII[b] BIOS: Built off the GEN2 BIOS firmware, several improvements were made and on more customizable for the user, with the ability to switch into different modes at user will for different situations.


    VISR 4.9.1: Improved Visor Capabilities with use of specialized modules mounted to the helmet. 90% of available armor systems can store up two modules internally with additional modules mounted externally to the helmet. Current List of Modules:


    Aquatic Module (External Only): Module design specifically for underwater environments


    Explorer/Pioneer Module: Module design for general environmental analysis, with minor technological analysis capability.

    Commander Module: Improve functionality for commanders with netlinks with teammates and command centers.


    Communications Module (External Only): Advance Communication functions, can be paired with an integrated backpack for expanded functionality.


    EVA Module: Improved capabilities in Vacuum Environments

    Gunfighter Module: Improve medium and close range combat analysis.


    Marksman-Tracker Module (External Only): Improve long range combat analysis and advance targeting computers.


    Vehicle Operator Module: Improve input for vehicle operation and linkage to the vehicles systems for better control.


    Recon-Pathfinder Module (External Only): Similar to the Explorer Module, but with more focus on combat and technology and less on environmental surroundings.


    Rogue Module (DISCONTINUED): Optimized for single or small team operations in hostile territory.


    Support/Gunner Module: Balance Module design to enhance fire support and gunner personal.


    Technician-Engineer Module: Specialized Module to for dealing with both Human and Alien Technology. Popular with demolition experts, as the module can detect weak spots in equipment and buildings.


    Wetworks-Stalker Module: Adds unique input to users that lets them see their 'footprint' and displays areas to least detection easily. Highly Advance and costly module is preferred by assassins.


    Reduced Maintenance: Reduced maintenance needs, the system can be maintained by the user, provided he/she has proper training. Multiple technicians are still required for major repairs and inspections.


    Outer Components


    Integrated Communication System: Improved communication systems and integration with suits firmware. Better optimized for longer range communication. Some units are equipped with am OPTIONAL Quantum Communication and Transponder System.


    Armor X Outershell: Traditional Titanium plates are replaced with new Armor X composite material. Outer most layer is composed of the Titanium-A5/Theta with a core material of classified material from XEG. Per volume, the armor is 50% more effective against plasma weapons, 100% more effective against hardlight and Forerunner weapons and 200% against projectiles including blamite. These effectiveness can be improved with anti-energy coatings.


    Memory processor superconductor layer (Optional): Minor efficiency improvements and decrease in size and volume, reduces total armor effectiveness by 10%.


    Magnetic weapon holder strips: Using new Forerunner Materials, creates a very powerful, but localized electrical magnetic field improving stealth capabilities of the suit. Can reverse polarity to force attached materials to fly away.


    Energy Shield System: Improved General Strength by 20% and recharge speed by 30% over GEN2 system. New self overcharge of shields can increase its strength by 300%, but at cost of not being able to recharge the shields until 2 minutes after the shields have been dropped outside of the overcharge state.


    Aegis Hardlight Shield Emitter System (Optional): Available in full or partial coverage options. The Aegis Shield system produces hardlight shield panels that float several centimeters from the emitter, providing better protection to the user, at the cost of decreased flexibility. Panels can be selectively turned on, to provide the best balance of maneuverability and protection. A popular usage of the system is to activate the forearm panels to deflect Covenant Energy Swords, as the system is completely invulnerable to the alien weapon. Support Gunners also favor the system, as the hardlight shield is transparent enough for the most VISR systems to target through the panels.


    Armor Mods: All known armor mods are installed standard with a slight increase in effectiveness over GEN2 variations

    Microfusion Reactor: Improved power output by 15% and longevity by 2%. System Size has been reduced by 50% with an 20% increase in weight. The smaller size of the Fusion Reactor helps facilitate new options and equipment stored in the armor's rear pack.


    Vacuum Energy Power Systems (Optional): An alternate power source that was developed from reverse engineering Forerunner technology. The system uses a twin vacuum power extractor system that is slightly smaller then the current Microfusion Reactor found on the MKVII[b]. Due the dangerous nature of Vacuum Energy extractions a large number of safety protocols are installed in the system, which warranted a twin system for redundancy, in case an extractor is shutdown for safety reasons. Power output of the system is normally set at 10% higher then the current Microfusion Reactor.

    Emergency Backup Microfusion Reactor: Small Microfusion reactor capable of running the most of the needed power systems of the armor for a period of 48 hours with reduced capabilities, see below:


    Strenght and Speed Enchancements reduced by 50%

    Energy Shield Strength reduced by 70%

    Energy Shield Recharge Rate double depending on conditions

    Thruster System functionality reduced by 80% (usable for EVA operations)

    Sensor Range reduced by 70%

    Sensor Resolution reduced by 80%

    Advance Communication Options Disabled

    Normal Communication equipment reduced by 60%

    Emergency Communication System Fully Operational

    All Optional Equipment Disabled

    Forerunner Fail Safe Detonation System (optional): Using a self contained power source, the system works as an additional self detonation device that only destroys the armor system, but leaves the user and its surroundings enact. UNSC hopes to make this system the new standard, as it reduces collateral damage and lost of civilian life significantly.


    Integrated Thruster System: Improved strength greatly and reduced cool down, further enhancements made due armor mods,

    Cold Thrusters (Optional): Adds an additional mod of thrusters that normally do not show up on sensors, for improve stealth operations. The thrusters still produce a small amount of light, which can be seen visually and produce a quiet but muffled noise.


    Auto-repair and bypass nodes : Improved reliable and speed of repair. Certain trouble spots one the armor are still an issue.


    Solid State Adaptive Camouflage (Optional): Advance paint coating derived from the SPI armor, the unique paint coating can change color and camouflage pattern at specialized stations to change the color of the armor for better camouflaging. The solid state nature of it, also prevents the armor from changing color or pattern at unwanted times from either internal or external influence. In an ultra rare case that the paint system does something unwanted, the user has the ability to send a signal to deactivate the system . When the system is deactivated, it retains a neutral grey color.


    Integrated Blade System (Optional): An integrated melee blade system using hyper dense materials capable of piercing most armors. The blade system is self-sharpening and has a quick change system to replace the blades for routine maintenance. While the blade system is standardize, most users choose a custom housing for personal expression.

    Silhouette Mission Pack System, SMRS (Optional): Specialized backpacks that can be mounted the MJOLNIR armor system. Unlike a traditional backpack, Silhouette Mission Pack System has routing vents, that allow usage of Maneuvering Thrusters.


    List of Current Packs:


    General Storage: Pack used for general storage of supplies. Users can customize what equipment they bring the field.


    Recon Pack: Advance sensor and communication package for scanning and uploading information to a Base sensor or orbital ship/platform. Has a small storage for survival gear and a backup powersupply for the MJOLNIR armor system.


    Rescue Pack: Special equipment for rescue operations. Contains multiple grappling and wrenching systems to pull up personal and equipment. Has an advance medical pack for those qualified to use it.


    Assaulter Pack: Contains a large ammo reservoir, that can quickly deploy ammunition magazines and other munitions.


    Support Pack: Contains a large ammo reservoir for belt feed weapons, and feeds directly into the weapon system. Besides feeding ammo through the feed line, a gaseous coolant can be pumped into the the weapon system that both cools and cleans the weapon system.


    Advance Jet Pack: An improve version of the standard jet packs.


    Armor Enhanced Module: Experimental system that increases the MJOLNIR Armor size up by one Exoskeleton Class, details are classified.
