*The third fanart for VHD in August 2018...Colored it before going to work this early morning and took a photo when I was back XD
Actually, I still have 16 unfinished VHD sketches from last and this year left for me to color. The truth is I have too many sketches in folders. Thinking of giving them colors or throwing them away (TvT) Some of them are difficult pictures which made me lose motivation to color, some look a bit weird and some are without background due to being lacking of ideas... I'm such a horrible artist XD

You drew very well his sense of emptiness. I was feeling the aura of this work discreetly repressed, which made me look like a cover art of the novel. It seems beyond a fan art.

I myself also like the outcome of this pic. I think this is how "D" in his journey feels and is, the emptiness and solitude without end. Recently, I'm trying to fix my art style for Vampire Hunter D fan arts. Don't know how it will be like in the end though. XD

I agree that drawing D is quite difficult. In those two official movies and manga by Saiko-san, he looks very manly and has different design comparing to Amano-sensei's illustrations for novel version which looks more feminine (face) and had ghostly white skin with silver/blond hair. And in Kikuchi-sensei's books, he is described as inhumanly gorgeous, even men would fall in love but has muscular figure XD I can't choose which version is better to draw, so I mix Amano-sensei's and Kikuchi-sensei's D together. Unfortunately, I just can't imagine that inhumanly gorgeous face and draw it out on paper.

I agree with you as well. The face of D drawn by SAIKO is too feminine and I will not accept it.
My drawing D also becomes feminine. I want to a little more masculine.
I refer to the face of young ATSUSHI SAKURAI of BUCK-TICK (Japanese rock band)←It is old but still active.
ATSUSHI was black hair and long hair when I was young.
It was close to my imagining 'D'.
But because of my lack of power, I can not draw it well.
Plus I am not a fan of BUCK-TICK, so I am not familiar with it.

Your drawing is fine since in the book, D is described that he looks so gorgeous + beautiful that makes people faint. So Bishounen type is actually acceptable. HOHOHOHO....
I've just checked up about Sakurai Atsushi on Google. Wow! He used to have such a beautiful long hair for a men when he was young (*o*) He indeed suits long hair which is rare to be found. I saw many male artists with long hair but it doesn't look good. Now I can understand why you see his image when you are imagining D.

The face of the character drawn by SAIKO is unfortunately not my type.
However, how to draw style is, I think that it is very good. To be honest, I only read one volume of VHD's comics. Volume 2 and later, has placed without reading. Maybe I will read and sell it only once.
Atsushi Sakurai (櫻井敦司）when I was young was really beautiful and male moderators of the music program were also watched and could not talk nervously.

Don't worry... I've just read vol. 1-6 of her VHD manga because I wanted to know the difference between her and the original novels by Kikuchi sensei. Normally, I would try to read 'till it's end but her female character style makes me really don't wanna do. Feel sorry to her hard work though. I know that she did her best in this project while Kikuchi-sensei as adviser. (T.T) So now I read only the original novels and the coming American comic.

Linkin Park is my teen fav band. I was so sad last year when I heard Chester commit suicide. (T.T) Even now I still listen their old songs. Btw, I don't know GLAY but I do know LUNA SEA. Linkin park vocal death was really shocking. I do not know the band members in detail. But friends and I were very happy to support that Japanese Americans succeeded in the American music industry at that time and were cheering.
By the way, the band called TM network I said last time was the theme song of the anime movie of VHD 1985.
I did not know it, singing was not good for me either. I can not think that it is a song suitable for the movie of D.

Yes!!! There is a ongoing US comis for VHD but not finish yet. I've bought and read the eBook version for the first issue. There will be total 5 issues but the other 4 issue haven't been published yet. You can buy and read it on Amazon. Here is the link...

This series is called, "Vampire Hunter D: Message from Mars". The original story is from Kikuchi-sensei's short story which isn't published as book. 
I don't think it suits for VHD (1985)'s theme song too XD I like the music from 2000 better. But the theme song "遠くまで" from Do As Infinity (DAI) doesn't suit the movie as well, although I like DAI. (TvT)

Thank you very much and wish your finger recover soon. Actually, my right hand was covered with wounds from those freaky rose thorns in my garden since Monday. It was an accident but...painful and now itchy (TvT) So...now I use my left hand to color. Quite uncomfortable.

If you don't wish to throw them out, save them for when you wanna just experiment with something. With colouring; if you wanna try something more surreal or... something; keep them even as just sketches and call them finished! Finished art sometimes just are sketches, and nothing is wrong with that!
