Welcome to 2007! This was our ninth year together and we both thought that the characters Jigsaw and Amanda, from the "Saw" movies, would be a nice addition to our repertoire. A new Saw movie comes out each year around Halloween, so the idea of them should be fresh in peoples minds, and Madison is a hip, college town, so we figured that the Saw movies would have a fairly large fan base here.
Boy were we right. These were quite possibly our most popular costumes yet. We were easily the hit of State Street this year, and we even won "Best Overall Costume" to prove it. My wife's costume turned out very well, and she was identified on her own throughout the night. I had the pleasure of pushing our little "Billy Jigsaw" puppet around, and as a result, got quite a bit of attention as well. Though we both looked good, the puppet outshine us both. We couldn't walk more than ten feet without getting stopped to be photographed, and just as many people wanted pictures of the puppet alone, as they did with all three of us. The nice thing about the puppet was that he was just so neat, that even if people didn't know anything about the "Saw" movies, they still loved the puppet. People laughed at it thought it was cute, and people also screamed in terror when they saw it (he was pretty creepy) It was a great night.
