whimsical - adaptable - supportive - spiritual
◯ Youthful and spirited, Vollney is a bright and cheerful individual who brings a smile to every conversation. Judging him by his playful nature, many would say that he’d never really grown up: the truth is that he still finds pleasure in the little things, like the feeling of air teasing his fur during a race, the soil against his shoulders in a game of rough and tumble. His positivity is boundless, and he finds great joy in bringing happiness to others even when they do not ask for it, particularly in such times of darkness and uncertainty.
◯ His silliness belies a deeper intelligence. Taking Vollney at face value, it would be easy to presume that he is not particularly smart, but in reality he is sharp and perceptive. Thoughtful but in unexpected ways, Vollney is surprisingly observant, paying attention to the little things as well as how they fit into the wider picture. He is not always forthcoming about his deeper thoughts, sharing them only with his closest friends, or his sister Moirae. Adaptable, Vollney seems to take change in his stride.
◯ A sociable and talkative soul, Vollney enjoys the company of others. He finds it easy to make friends, and seems to take no offense to those who do not seem to enjoy his company. He’s respectful of all perspectives, even those which conflict with his own. Those who share his views and opinions will find in him a dependable ally with a strong moral compass. His loyalty is unshakable but can be more difficult to earn, and he does not trust blindly - in fact, often it is his closest friends who will be in receipt of his brutal honesty, for he will not hesitate to tell them if he feels they have strayed from their light.
◯ Very little can pierce his bubble of optimism, for his faith in the island and in fate seems to offer him an answer to everything. Spiritual to a fault, Vollney trusts entirely in the island, and believes that all things happen for a reason. He does all that he can to see the good in others, even when they don’t see it themselves, and doesn’t believe that anyone is truly evil - simply that they have wandered from their path. Magic too is a blessing in his opinion, intended to heal the island, not harm it.

who you should be

◯ Spirituality was woven into Vollney’s very being, before he’d even taken his first breath. The story, as it was recounted to him much later by his mother and father, was that his sister Moirae had given her sight in order that her brother could live. Vollney was sure never to forget this sacrifice, vowing both to protect his sister always, and to live his life to its fullest. From this point onward, the wolf was careful never to waste a single day of the gift of life he had been given.
◯ The bond between littermates is often tested, but Vollney and Moirae were never broken or divided by the sands of time. Not even as darkness began to creep across the island; they watched, side by side, as their world changed, knowing that all would be well in the end because they had faith, and they had each other.
◯ They welcomed the return of magic to the island, and it seemed at first to awaken something in Moirae. Some manner of sight, a fitting replacement for the sacrifice she had made in the womb. Their excitement about it was short lived. It quickly became evident that no such thing had been awoken, but be it from sympathy or guilt, Vollney seemed supportive of his sister’s increasingly ridiculous - and incorrect - predictions about the future. It seemed to earn more scorn from their peers, only serving to bind the siblings even closer together, as Vollney seemed to be the only one who understood.
◯ Volley was content in the south, happy to leave the Kol to their business in the north, and it was this thinking that filtered into he and Moirae’s decision to follow Morgur after Osirus’ sad death. Like them, Morgur understand that the island needed balance, that light could not exist without dark, and that the land would guide them forward. So they went, together, as they always had.
◯ Existence in Taika was peaceful, as the Akis had promised, and Vollney was happy. But the wave that struck the land did something that had never been done before: it split Vollney from Moirae. In the flood he lost her, and though the island chose that he would survive, he was dismayed that he could not find hide nor hair of his sister. Through sodden, flooded land he searched until he was collected by a Skydan patrol, only to find that Moirae had not made it east, either. For the first time, he felt lost, as though half of his soul was missing.
