The contrast in the colours and the expressions is excellent
The style really makes me think of classical religious paintings; I think it's mainly the lighting on the white one's fur

Two very different expressions caught with a good painting talent.
I am guilty for constantly thinking about "LOLCats" when I look at that white kitten, but both look appropriately cute.
