Thanks, but I spend around 20 hours on that one... You say your's was a quick one! How do you manage to draw so well in so little time

I was suprised myself! I spend on that one about 2 hours or a little bit longer. You can see that mine details are still rough, especially when you see this picture in full resolution

Of, ok... I feel a little bit better I thought I was simply VERY slow motion

Normally I spend few days on my picture, so I thought I might need some practice with quick paintings
For example, [link] I worked on this one for two days

Thanks a lot!
I used one of my screenshots as a reference. Like I said in the artist comments, that was meant to be a quick painting...

Really amazing work!
The skin looks really good, along with the cloth folds. The textures are really good aswell, i like how you can see the different materials of the clothing pieces.
As it was mentioned above, the hair looks a little "boring" compared to the rest of the picture, but apart from that it's really good!

Good grief, the detail you put into his clothing--makes my wee eyes hurt. Lovely work.

Amazing work, you could only add some background but even without it portrait is still amazing.

I'll try to work some background out... but it'll stay quite simple. Probably just add a little more brown tones (maybe a drop of red too).
Thanks a lot for your comment

Haddrian, if I may make one suggestion, the hair looks a bit flat. Perhaps you could give it more highlights and shadows?

Ok, I'll try! Thanks a lot

I tried to give some more highlights, Let me know how it looks
Thanks again for the advice

That looks a lot better!

In future, you should try to give the hair more volume. Contrary to popular belief, it does not lay flat on your head- the only time it does is when it's wet.

Haddrian In reply to Embers-are-left [2010-09-15 22:16:39 +0000 UTC]

Yea, I know! Mine is like metal wire, curling a little everywhere... But, I had made highlights and a little "background color toning" but it didn't show on DA. I was probably working in a room with a strange light... Anyways, thanks a lot for your advices
