Well done considering you don't have a skull 'just lying around' (weird, I mean who -doesn't- have skulls just lying around?) Still, it's really good.

I love your contour lines on this. Just like Shy-Steamer said, the human skull has so many interesting and beautiful curves and you've captured that very nicely, particularly around the right cheek and eye socket. I would really like to see how this would have turned out on the grey paper with the white pastel because then you can really push that contrast further.Β
Animal skulls and bones are such a wonderful subject for still-life work if you can get your hands on any.Β

Wow!
For a quick sketch, this is amazing!!!
Alright let's jump into this.
The way you handled the lines is good. The human skull is sort of jagged and takes many twists and turns, and by using sharp uneven line in your shading, you managed to bring that out.
I think it's interesting how you drew the skull missing two of its teeth. This adds a more human feel to it. Perhaps the individual didn't have great hygiene. Maybe they used to get into violent fist fights. Maybe they were mugged and murdered.
The shading looks nice. The values were executed almost flawlessly. You went from darkest, inside the skull, to almost lightest to show the depth of the ocular cavity.Β
Perhaps one of my favorite parts in this picture is, as I spoke about earlier, the lines. They're bold. Most drawings need subtle lines to complement the gentle shades and colors, but these lines are perfect for the picture.
In the end, you did very nicely on this picture.Β
The only thing I would suggest for the future is: if you're going to use bold lines, then don't just use them in one spot and then not make them as bold in other spots. For example, the part where the left cheekbone meets the beginning of the mouth needs to have a heavier line. You kinda went soft at that part.
This was a very good picture though, so keep doing great! Β Β
