Personality: In this timeline, Clyde has become a very serious and semi-hotheaded man. He has not smiled (not once) since he was a teenager. In addition to his serious persona, Clyde has become a ruthless fighter. He is not afraid to fight anyone and will kill them if necessary. Despite his new persona, he has a soft spot for children and believes that they are the future.
Biography: Alternate Dimension Future Wire had a very similar life to the present day Wire. After becoming a great and renowned hero, at age 17, an unforeseeable event happened. Resurfacing once more, Epsilon created a horrible abomination that would change the fate of mankind. This creature that Epsilon created had too much power and turned on him. Without a master to control it, the creature created havoc throughout the city. It began hunting down mutants and absorbing their power (effectively killing them).
Clyde and his team were at a loss. They didn’t want to kill the creature that Epsilon created (it was once a person that was close to them). They did everything in their power to fight off the creature, but they could not defeat it as the creature had too much power. After months of countless battles across the globe, loss of life, cities reduced to rubble and deaths of friends, family and teammates… Wire decided that enough was enough and mustered enough power to end the creature’s life. With everyone he knew dead, Wire went into hiding and began training day in and day out.
Not long after, it was ruled that mutants and powers were a threat to humanity. The government wanted mutants to be eliminated. Knowing Wire was in a fragile state, they found him and invited him to join the government in eradicating mutants. Looking back at all the trouble mutants have caused, Wire decided to join up with them so he can have a purpose again. After killing many mutants, Wire decided that this was not for him. He decided that killing mutants would not erase the pain of his past. He also felt as if he was just a pawn by the government. What would happen after he eliminated all the mutants? Would the government turn against Wire after all is said and done? The government wants to eliminate all mutants after all. Instead of helping destroy life and benefiting the government, Wire decided that it would be best to unite humans and mutants again. In order to do this, he would have to conquer the world and overthrow the government.
Wire effectively left the government, became a worldwide fugitive and created an underground safe haven for mutants. His new goal in life is to conquer the world, bring peace to it and stop violence in the mutant and human community.
Fun Fact: It appears that in this dimension, Clyde is doing Epsilon’s work. Epsilon originally wanted Clyde on his team because he saw potential in his power and he knew that he could do some serious damage if he harnessed and trained Clyde the right way. Clyde has proven that Epsilon was right.
