I haven't posted anything in a while (August?! Yikes!) I'll admit I'm just not very productive when it comes to drawing. But sometimes I get an idea in my head and I can't help but hash it out as best that I can. Just to get the idea down on paper. Or on an iPad screen. As is the case.

As any avid video gamer of the 90s knows, in the classic Gameboy game Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins, when Mario gets the Carrot Power-Up he turns into 'Rabbit Mario' and can use his ears to glide short distances. Overall its and interesting Mario Power-Up footnote, because we never see it again.

Here we see the return of the illusive Carrot. Only now its turning our hero into Bunny(girl) Mario instead.

I literally can not find another example of this idea anywhere on the internet. wtf. It practically writes itself people!

Anyway, I've actually spent a lot of time trying to TG Mario with various ideas and designs. One thing that often bothers me about other people's TG Marios are then make him normal human proportioned. Its a rare Mario TG that retains his cartoon bodytype. Which is too bad, because he actually makes for a very cute girl I think when drawn in traditional game style.

This (very) rough sketch came out better then most of my previous Mario attempts, and decided to throw some color on it to share.

UPDATE: Decided to go back in to add some more costume details I forgot, and cleaned some stuff up while I was at it. Also ended up reversing the color scheme to be more similar to Mario's Blue Overalls/Red Shirt.
