Description This is the first in a series of images that I plan to release. I hope you enjoy them.

Please let me know if you're using this as your wallpaper. I'm kind of curious how many people who do a full view on my stuff are actually using them. Thanks in advance!

How did I do that?
It is an Apophysis 2 image that I worked several hours to create. Anyone who thinks they can just jump on Apophysis and have something like this generated automatically is out of their mind. This kind of stuff requires considerable effort and a good understanding of the tools available in Apophysis.

Wish I could give ya one but just not possible. This is just one of those oddball flames that come up while playing with Apo!

hmm i can't get anyone to teach me or at least give me a usable hint how to do knitting/ braiding looking stuff in apo.
can you give me a clear workable way to archieve something like that?? thnx

guitarzar In reply to dwerg85 [2005-06-05 21:37:56 +0000 UTC]

Not sure it's possible to teach anyone how to get that look. Most of these shapes just come about after playing with the triangles.

This is really really nice , I do wish that the overall composition was a bit more complex rather than simply the strong vertical lines on either side. Thanks just me though.

Robert,

Understood, I figured as much. There is a limit to how much control I have with what I do as well, and when I luck out and it works well, then I just take it and run. Ones that don't, I toss, which is a lot of them.

BTW, you complimented me on my abstract style, thanks. I call it Emergent Expressionism. For an explanation of it read this: [link] Emergent Expressionism is my own idea, its sort of draws on old ideas about Abstract Expressionism and ideas from Fractal Expressionism, but it is not Fractal Expressionism. If you have any questions about what I'm trying to do or why, shoot me a note. Your stuff is good btw in case you somehow missed out that I was saying that.

cheers,

fool aka bob

Hi there.

I really like this image and although I know nothing of the software, I do know a little for fractals, so i can appreciate the work involved in this.

To me it seems like a close up on a peice of exquisite Dwarven chainmail armour, but then, they may just be me

What is the program that you use and how can I get a legal copy?

This looks like some fancy strands of some kind. It's pretty.

It doesn't take me a couple of hours to design something in Apo, but it takes a lot of experience and experimentation to come up with something good. Now zooming and rendering is a different matter.
