Description
I’ve reworked Tilda a bit, since it was so freaking boring at work. Now she has a bit more story.
She’s the leader of a Troll tribe living in the Pine Barrens in 1900 or thereabouts. When her father was still alive, a man who unknowingly trespassed in their territory was captured and brought to the meeting hall for judgement (probably execution, since Trolls are not overly fond of humans in general, but especially not the white Americans, who swank around like the lords of all bloody creation and are quick to shoot first and ask questions later).
This guy wasn’t actually all that bad though. He was a tinkerer and a chemist, and ended up saving the life of an extremely sick warrior who was on the verge of being put down.
Grudgingly the chief allowed the man to live, though because they were/are trying to keep their tribe secret, he was not permitted to leave, and was required to take a Troll wife to further tie him to the village.
Long story short, Tilda ended up being the one chosen, and though she wasn’t in love with the man, they did become friends.
However, her husband never stopped pining after the human civilization he’d lost.
Once her father died (he was wicked old) and Tilda took his place (because Trolls don’t give a wick about genders), she released her husband from his obligation to stay in the village, requiring only that he keep their existence secret, and come back for a visit every now and then.
She couldn’t end the marriage, because Troll law is very clear about what circumstances are required for it to be acceptable, and none of them had been met.
After returning to society and making up some bull story about where he’d been all this time, the man resumed his life, and ended up starting his own company.
Many years later, his sister and brother in law died, leaving behind a bit of money and a baby girl.
The man was forced to take her in, but was really freaked out about being a father all of a sudden. Tilda had always wanted kids, but had been forced to put that dream on hold after the marriage (Trolls live a lot longer than humans though, so it’s not permanently out of the question).
Long story short, the girl is raised between the two of them, spending summer and fall with her adopted Troll mother, and winter and spring with her adopted Human father (more or less).
TL;DR
I like big smashy smashy Troll Mama in oldy times America.
The Trolls have more of an ancient Scandinavian aesthetic than a Native American one, because that’s where their people came from like a billion ages ago.
Bye bye.
