Art is simple, the main thing is what is counted. This is basically a history of a different timeline, showing the events that happened until the year of the image. I apologize if there is any inaccuracy or something that is missing or that does not make sense in the story. I was with few ideas.

The events the happened on this world are the same of our world until the end of WW2. The major divergence happens in early 1950s, on the events of the Korean War. After the US and UN forces had recovered South Korea and invaded the North, the People's Republic of China had entered the conflict, and the Soivet Union sent planes disguised as North Korean forces to help, however the soviet plan were discovered, the US had sent an ultimatum to the USSR but it wasn't responded. On November 1950, the WW3 had begun between NATO and the Commitern. The conflict would extend until 1953 in and allied victory with approximately 150 million casualities. At this point the Cold War, as we known, didn't happened, once the Communist Bloc were defeated after WW3, the USSR were dismantled, and Korea, China and the East european countries became capitalist governments. The European Continent even didn't have time to recovery itself until a new world conflict took place, and the world fully recovered from the war only in early 2000s.
The situation of worldwide superpowers politics were stable from the first 25 years after the war, the things would start to change from late 1970s where Russia and China would have more nationalist governments and a new competition would begin between the capitalists US, Europe, China and Russia. In the following years and it would take worldwide proportions as another major nation like Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, India and Australia would enter in the race. These competition were both technologic and military, having some weaponary control trouth treaties and international conventions.
Time passed and we entered the 21st century after the full recovery of the WW3 in the 2000s, it seemed that a grand future was awaited, because the world was witnessing several technological advances and relations between the superpowers were low. Even with competition started between them, the Russia-US relationship has never been so good. Well all this until 2037. After that, those relations would disappear.
In 2037 there was a political change that took place in Russia and China, where the ultra-nationalist parties seized power from both governments. These parties had a bad view of Western politics, which, as said before, made the relationship between the two countries and the Western world decline over the years.
The situation would deteriorate further throughout the 2040s and 2050s, because in addition to the political tensions that returned after 2037, oil reserves were running out around the world, and conflicts began to occur because of this. However, countries such as the United States, Canada and Brazil were already looking for alternatives to oil. Since 2011 it had been predicted that considering the high rate of consumption at the time, oil would not last more than 60 years, although this forecast had not been taken very seriously in that period.
The situation would deteriorate further throughout the 2040s and 2050s, because in addition to the political tensions that returned after 2037, oil reserves were running out around the world, and conflicts began to occur because of this. However, countries such as the United States, Canada and Brazil were already looking for alternatives to oil. Since 2011 it had been predicted that considering the high rate of consumption at the time, oil would not last more than 60 years, although this prediction had not been taken very seriously in that period.
In the midst of all this, there was a Russian ultra-nationalist terrorist group whose aim was to end any Western influence in the country and also to try to destabilize the little interaction that still existed between Russia and the Western Bloc.
Over time, since the end of WW3, Russia had recovered from the war and once again thundered a powerful nation on the international scene, even being compared to the former USSR. The same had happened in China, which had become a nationalist country like Russia. Both were having good interactions with each other, as they shared similar views about the Western world.
The terrorist group quoted above would prepare for a new attack in Moscow, a city that had a large number of tourists, targeting the city's airport. The attack took place on August 16, 2069, where more than 197 people were killed and 380 others injured. The group used bodies of dead Americans and Europeans and dressed them with their equipment and placing weapons in their hands, giving the chance of suicide, the involved terrorists managed to escape without a trace.
This event infuriated the Russians, especially after the discovery of the bodies. As if that were not enough, only 19 hours after the attack a conflict took place in the border region between Korea and China, the Chinese government accused the US that the conflict had occurred because of US military personnel who were in the region. The United States has been continually denying both information, but nothing has worked, and on August 18, 2069, the world would see another world-wide conflict.
In the first weeks, several nuclear attacks occurred in Europe and Asia, which ended up causing a global panic and causing the UN to hold an emergency meeting to try to restore peace. Peace was not restored, but a treaty was established to stop the nuclear attacks with the intention of avoiding greater stagings or even the total collapse of civilization. Between October 2069 and August 2070, the war continued with Russia having made great strides in Europe, although the troops of the European nations were very strong, their forces already in the border of France, being with many casualties.
China managed to occupy the Korean peninsula in the first months of the war as well as some regions of the Southeast Asia, but from April 2070 an allied offensive repelled the Chinese advance as well as the resumption of Korea, from the end of August the war in Asia would begin to stagnate.
On September 2, 2070, the grudge of ultra-nationalist Russia would cease after the discovery that the bombing in August of the previous year was a sabotage. The members of the terrorist group were located in Siberia, they confessed what had happened. All those involved were arrested and sentenced to death, even though they committed suicide before the penalty.
On 3 September a ceasefire was made between Russia and the Allies, with the treaty being signed on 26 October. To avoid further problems, the frontiers of the pre-conflict period were maintained, seeing that all this war had not gone beyond an immense misunderstanding.

This meant that while some nations were cooperating in post-conflict recovery, others sought alternative sources to replace oil, which eventually led to conflicts on the part of nations economically dependent on oil.
Many people began to question whether this was really the destiny of mankind: To destroy itself to the end through devastating wars of global proportions. Although things are calming down, the world has gone through this 4 times in a 156-year period and even the smallest of motives could lead to the worst of the conflicts. Luckily, you would not have to worry about it again, at least for now.
Things would finally take a positive turn after 2080, with the discovery of new sources of energy, as well as the improvement in world political relations. The great nations knew that they could no longer fight in this way again, since the last war ended up making no sense at all and together many things could be done. Through this it was taken the idea that it was time for humanity to expand its borders by initiating human colonization on other planets. This was done and in 2084 the colonization of Mars was begun, with its terraforming beginning in 2097.
Many space achievements had been made so far, such as the Moon mission in 1989 and the Mars mission in 2047, with the colonization of Mars in 2084 a milestone in the history of space exploration. What would be surprising, is how Mars would develop in a short period of time. While in 2096 Mars was with an average of 15 million, it would already have almost 2 billion inhabitants by 2164.
Some time before, in 2129, Earth had finally recovered completely, and the tensions between countries were minimal. With this was made a decision history, which would be the unification of the planet, being an evolve of the UN. Each country would still have its autonomy, form of government and policies and control over its colonies in space, the union having a group of people who would only represent the Earth, although many felt that such unification would not go forward.
Over time, humanity would be further expanded by space with more and more colonies being represented by the Earth. Things would take propotions similar to the colonialism of the last centuries, even being called Space Imperialism, which would start to cause uprisings on the part of the colonies, mainly in Mars.
Such revolts would take on greater proportions until they began to be suppressed by the Earth. This repression worked in some colonies, Mars being the most difficult.
The situation seemed to have calmed down, but in 2185 the unexpected happened.
Several armed forces would gather in the Martian capital "New Hope City" and other areas of the planet to fight for the independence of Mars. This event would lead to the first interplanetary armed conflict in history, expanding also to other colonies, which would cause the Earth to act with all its might. The war would last for almost a decade, until the land was forced to sign a treaty at the end of 2194.
The treaty guaranteed the independence of Mars and other colonies such as Venus and Jupiter, as well as greater autonomy should be provided to smaller colonies and future colonies, which in fact infuriated the Earth.
Mars was finally independent, having made several plans throughout its first years of existence, such as the creation of a flag and the creation of its First Constitution in 2201. Its future seemed promising, since at the beginning it passed with an economic growth , rapid development and was also participating in space exploration as well as Earth.
Unfortunately, everything that is good is short-lived, since from the second half of the 23rd century the situation would take an opposite turn to Mars, due to the poor administration of the Martian government from 2252. By 2290 Mars was already in a difficult situation, going through economic crises, unemployment, even parts of famine and misery, having a slight improvement in 2294 along with 100 years anniversary of the indepenence of Mars.
Arriving in the 24th century, Mars was in chaos, the population was almost in extreme misery, and the government did practically nothing, which would eventually trigger a communist revolution in 2307, led by Joseph Harper, being he, a sympathizer to communism, having ideals similar to the old Bolsheviks. The revolution spread quickly across the planet, giving the opposition army little time to mobilize. Earth took advantage of this opportunity to circumvent the old 2194 treaty. Earth also knew that a communist victory on Mars could bring a threat that was not seen since the Soviet Union in the 20th century, but Earth still had a grudge against Mars because of the war in 2185-94.
Time passed, the war ended and the communists were victorious in 2312. At that point, the People's Democratic Republic of Mars was proclaimed, and it is also known as The "Red" Planet by the Earth.

Being that in less than 30 years Mars was already recovered and even at Earth level, which caused tenacies between the two planets. And with that, here we are in 2344, with two planetary powers, the Capitalist Earth and Communist Mars, both with their military arsenal ready to be used.
