Too bad they didn't do more with M'ress. It always seemed to me she had the biggest gap between her potential and her actual usage of any character in the franchise.
I'd almost be afraid to see how they'd re-imagine her for live action. I suppose they'd have to use a mixture of a live actress, and CGI for her huge eyes, her muzzle, her feet and her tail. Planet of the Apes-style prosthetics would just look gross.
She could easily slip into the Uncanny Valley.
She could be incredibly hot, but they'd have to be very careful about how they handled her design.

She's nice, but the MM TOS era didn't use the "Enterprise" emblem.

I know Arex and M'ress are too much to hope for. But wouldnt it be great if this next Trek movie could at least show members from their race?

Im not counting on it though. There have been some photos of the set and costumes and it's looking more like some "Re-imaging" of TOS rather than "The untold tale of how the legend started".
There's a corridor in the 1701 that doesnt look like something in the PIKE era when this was supposed to take place. Most of the actors said they weren't going to play the characters exactly how the originals did. Two uniforms seen look similar to Imperial uniforms from Star Wars in Trek division colors. And despite Shatner and Takei saying they would like to take part in it, got snubbed.
However Playmates got the liscense back and will be making movie figures
