Might and courage. Steel and faith. These are the markings of a noble hero, a courageous paladin, the leader of the unwavering Varago Dawnguard: Sir Aidric Godfrey!

Aidric was the leader of the paladins of Varago Hold, also known as the Varago Dawnguard. His sect of paladins operated outside of Lordith, but Aidric leant his strength during the Nirisfallan War. Here’s a list of a few of the paladin orders:

The Order of Lordith / The Church of Light: This is the largest and most common of the paladin orders. The Church of Light believes in upholding the original Benedictions of the Light created by the first paladin (The Holy King Haedric). Lordith is the birthplace of the paladin and the Lightwell (the source of the paladin’s strength).

Notable Paladins: The Grand Crusader and Darik Trinard

The Varago Dawnguard: Allied and linked closely with Ilaro, this order believes in being proactive and travelling the world to mete out justice. These paladins protect villages, give supplies and work closely with the people. Unfortunately, these paladins are very small in number.

Notable Paladins: Sir Aidric Godfrey

The Order of Vettion / The Paladins of White: Bordering Nirisfall these paladins are very zealous in their goal to eradicate the undead and all beings of the Darkness. Hardened by the constant fighting over their border these paladins have little mercy and are very powerful warriors...

Notable Paladins: Sir Alistair of Vettion

The Blood Knights: Nicknamed for their tendency to instigate violence, these heretical knights have forsaken their original oath and can no longer wield the Light. Beware of these tricksters. Many say this order is only one step away from joining the Cult of Nirisfall.

Notable Paladins: (None, because I’m only listing characters I’ve drawn so far)

I know I didn’t say much about Aidric… But that’s because it would be massive spoilers. The main plot hook of my story is “Where did the paladins go?” So if I told you what happened to Aidric (a paladin) that could kinda spoil everything...
