Description Alternate History - Australian Tank Liveries (1941-1956)

Presented above are basic tank liveries used by the United Australian Armoured Corps (UAARM) of the United Australian Army (UAA) between 1941 to 1956. All tanks are painted in the standard olive drab and upon assignment to units are painted with unit markings. Here presented on an E-30 Standardpanzer AUS , one can see the array of identifying marks unique to each tank and unit. Unit markings in the UAARM are reminiscent of those from the British Empire, however, have been developed over a longer time and have become quite unique. Fording markings (red lines across the hull) are one of the uniquely Australian markings that stand out. These are used to allow drivers to know how deep the tank may wade in the water. Markings are standardised across all UAARM units however these practices struggled to transfer perfectly across to the Foreign Military Divisions, foreign units raised under Australian command.

Numbers marked 1 through 3:
1 - Formation Sign. This 8x8 inch marking denotes the unit this tank was assigned to. The formation sign was always carried on the left-hand side (when looking forward from the tank) of the vertical glacis plate in front of the driver. Additionally, it would also be carried on the rear of the tank on the left-hand side (when looking from the tank.
2 - Arm-of-Service (AoS). The purpose of an AoS sign was to identify a regiment and its type (armoured, infantry, artillery and so on) within its parent formation. Generally, two AoS were carried on the front and rear of the vehicle.
3 - Bridging Classification Number. This marking shows the weight of the vehicle (rounded up), indicating what bridges the vehicle could cross. This sign consisted of a solid yellow circle, around 8 inches in diameter, within a black number was painted.

The tanks above are as follows:
- 'Capricorn' C Squadron, 1/9th Armoured Regiment UAARM, 3rd Armoured Brigade, 1st Army UAA (Queensland, Capricornia, Papua and New Guinea)
- 'Armadillo' A Squadron, 2/5th Armoured Regiment UAARM, 5th Armoured Brigade, 2nd Army UAA (New South Wales, Austral State)
- 'Bendigo' HQ B Squadron, 3/11th Armoured Regiment UAARM, 12th Armoured Brigade, 3rd Army UAA (Victoria, Tasmania)

Nice! I really like the pseudo-Panther/Tiger look to the design.

Thanks heaps mate, check this out Here  for more real info. This beefed up version, the E-30, would be the equivalent of a T-34/85 mixed with a M46 Patton.
