I have to ask this: HOW on earth did you do this?? What program do you use? What effects/tools or anything? I would really like to know, cause I'm kinda new to photography and photo manipulation and I would like to gain as much knowledge as possible
This photo is just amazing, congratulations!

Gregsters In reply to Ashti [2006-09-18 23:19:51 +0000 UTC]

Sure no problem. Any photoediting program with layers will work. A layer is just an image of the photograph but it may have modifications. In the above case this image was done in photoshop. I took a pic of some grass with dew. Made a copy of that pic in bw and masked off (made invisible) the water parts so they can show through. Thus it was a bw ontop of a color with only parts of the color image coming through.

I love this photo! It is great. I especially like the brightness of the green dew. Very well done. Sadly, I thought it did too rain green in NYC but thought better of it and noted your sarcasm in the description! lol. But very well done. Definitely a

Thanks a million for ur very nice comments. Although it would be cool, NY rain is no different from the rain that falls on blades of grass anywhere else. (but that doesnt say that the photoshoping is different :wink

great idea! extremely effective. it is a shame we see your reflection in a couple of the drops though difficult to overcome.

Thanks, I actually like reflections and didnt think they took away from the composition, but everyone's taste is different.

I always enjoy some experimental desaturation, and this piece is a great example. I really like the result. You can even see the reflections of surrounding grass blades in the droplets.

80schick [2004-11-01 03:36:58 +0000 UTC]

That's a really interesting manipulation you did there. The focus is great, and the clarity of the textures on the blade of grass are amazing. I wish you would have done all the droplets like that, though.... but it's still a great picture nonetheless.

Gregsters [2004-11-01 01:51:35 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Adam, I'm sure I would have done better with this one. thanks for the fav.
Yes here in NY the grass is grey and the rain is green . What can I saw when you live with the comforts of a metrapolis you also have to stand the discomforts LOL.
