sometimes they just like to disappear for awhile.this is quite different from some of the things i have been submitting lately.
This started out as something abstract. Somewhere along the way this concept took over.

i know i used to say it was all smoke and mirrors and just the designer in me, and in some ways it's still a little true. but i've grown a bit more confident about my work. I've finally developed an understanding of the tool that allows me to create the way i see things in my head.

thanks. that background used to be a foreground, or at least i was trying to make it that way, but something just never clicked so what you see showing through is only part of what is really under there. Or at least used to be. The subject matter of this image is very appropriate- because I felt that my muse did desert me during it's creation.

Those teal blue globes really caught my eye- just as a thumbnail. I'm also really enjoying the textures in the star burst. The colors as well as arch shape makes me think of stained glass thats been around awile.

thanks, the globes originally didnt have that teal in them. I decided that they needed something to make them pop and add a bit of contrast.
I was going for some sort of old bookplate, or trading card look.

I took the title from a line in a shakespeare sonnet. Originally i was just going to call it 'the muse' but it really isnt my muse. Mine would be well, a man. a really good looking man. So I was paging through of The Bard's sonnets and came upon that line and it just seemed to fit.

This first reminded me of an illuminated manuscript. After a full-view I got a little stained glass feeling.

interesting you should compare to digi, because the photo i used in this came from dustyoldstock.
(which i just realized i forgot to credit) it's been kicking around on my drive for a few months waiting for the right image in which to appear.
It's nice to try and work in a different style than usual- keeps one from falling into those same old traps.
