Not for empty buildings of steel and mortar, nor for streets and abandoned vehicles that would have put ancient Rome to shame. The angels wept because mankind neglected the most important of things."

I think that pretty much says it all.

Oil on gesso board. It took....ummm....10 - 15 hours of work. All of that spread out in tiny little incriments where I could find them between work, commissions, comic and life.

I so suck at buildings....and perspective. But that was why I did this painting. (well, not the perspective part. That will come as I get more aquainted with painting buildings). If you don't challenge yourself and paint/draw things you're not used to then how will you grow as an artist, right?

The "city" isn't really a city. It's more an assortment of buildings from different major cities in Europe and the USA.

It's almost exactly the way the actual painting looks. The reflection of the sunset wasn't nearly that yellow.
