Description
One of the last conversations between elderly Naruto and his son Minato, in which Minato learns that:A - his son will not become the next Kyuubi host
B - he won't get to succeed his father as the next Hokage
Minato deels betrayed - he had been his father's bodyguard for years. He had admired him and lwanted to follow into his footprints since he was a child. He was a devoted son and now his father denies him the one thing he so desperately longed for.
Naruto doesn't want to hurt his son. He acknowledges Minato as a great ninja, but knows his reasons for wanting the hokage title are plain selfish. He wants to proove his own value more than everything else. Naruto worries his son doesn't have the right spirit to suceed him. Painful as it is, Minato's reaction to hearing the news only makes Naruto sure he has made the right decision.

Yup. Naruto hates to hurt his son, but he knows Minato wants the title to cure his own inferioruity complex, not to care for the village. Thus, he simply cannot let him have it. Minato will eventually realize his father was right to deny him the title, but before he does he will have to learn a few painful lessons. So yes, there is bound to be sadness, lots of it.
