Description My half of an art trade with ~Jacquibim , who wanted me to redraw his pony OC Valkyrie for him, after he drew my OC Maverick Shot. Here are the characters he's drawn, below:

Valkyrie (left) and Maverick (right)
So here's Valkyrie, dressed in a tuxedo and red bowtie.

I'm really embarrassed to say that this is probably the only angle I can draw characters from and have it still turn out presentable, without their proportions and my technique breaking down immediately. But at least ~Jacquibim seemed to like what he's seen so far, and that's pretty encouraging. I really wanted to make a high-quality vector of his cutie mark in Flash or Illustrator and then import it into Photoshop and use it like that, but sadly I didn't have time. I also had this really epic idea for a background where he's strutting through Canterlot at night, enjoying the nightlife, but I was too afraid I'd screw it up, especially as far as lighting goes. So instead I just went the *Zaeta-K route like I usually do, and gave him an aged paper background. But at least I drew his shadow.

So yeah, enjoy my first art trade. I had a lot of fun drawing him, and I really wish my technique of differentially coloring my pencil sketch to match the fill color looked good on things other than ponies. I originally came up with the technique to more closely match MLP:FiM's coloring style, but I liked doing it so much that I feel it's my trademark technique...so I guess I need to practice more so it can look good on non-pony pictures. Anyways, here's Valkyrie, enjoy :3

He also kind of resembles Doctor Hooves' next regeneration.  Eleven.

The hair and light color of the suit, however, look more like the Eleventh incarnation of Doctor Who.

Haha! I love it, the expression is perfect, and I love how the tux turned out. Also, don't worry about the lack of a background, the clouds and light rays in my picture took about 5 minutes to make, so it's not like you're short changing me or anything.

I can't believe nobody's offered to do an art trade with you before.

Thanks man, glad you like it. Yeah I really enjoyed drawing him, he was a fun character to draw, especially his unusual mane design. Although the folds of fabric on his tuxedo were quite difficult to get properly, and I kinda just guesstimated where they'd be. Still I think he turned out just fine.

Hmm, yeah, I see what you mean. Well come to think of it I've done one previous art trade about a year and a half ago, but back then I was really bad at it and I have forgotten what I had drawn even. I really hope more people want to do art trades with me...I think as long as it's either ponies or guns, I can produce some nice quality art. What I really want though is for people to ask for commissions. But I don't think I'm quite good enough as an artist yet for people to want to commission me, or perhaps I charge too much. Either way only one person has commissioned me in the past six months, and he couldn't even pay since he didn't have PayPal, and I think point commissions are silly. But maybe I could start with a point commission or two, I dunno.

Yeah, I just deal in art trades, there's a whole lot of bullshit involved in commissions. For some reason people seem more open to asking for things when they can put their own creative energy into what they give you. If you said on your commission info that you'll accept character-for-character art trades with optional backgrounds, maybe you'll get more offers?

Hmm, I can definitely put it that way. I'll go do that right now
