Description My 700th deviation: a hastily-colored, alt-future illustration of sorts for Gunnar, as though he were never captured, and grew up to become a lost satellite in the North Atlantic. Something tells me his bad attitude would still prevail, left to evolve along negative experiences such as being shunned by established orca pods and being shot at by fishermen, using flares and rubber bullets, to keep him away from their nets.

Congrats on the 700th deviation!! I'm not even close to 250 Although, most of my past artwork is on sheezyart. I wasn't very active on here until 2012, only a few things from 2006-2009.

That fog is gorgeous! I adore the way his dorsal cuts through it. I love the concept too, really fascinating to think of the 'what if' with OCs. Seeing this and Ano's got my thinking of an alt story for Naih and Nikah.

Doesn't even feel like I've worked on seven hundred deviations, is the thing. Kinda surreal.

Thank you. Originally, the idea was just to show his fin and saddle against a foggy background. But that seemed too plain. So this was the alternative solution.

I'd be interested to see what you make of a "what if" piece, too. :3

I have a big soft spot for Gunnar Its kinda interesting how he looks so different with a standing dorsal. One little detail can change so much, huh?

'Tis true. After writing "Wrenched" (for which I have the next three illustrations sketched, by the way) it got me to thinking of what other possibilities he might have had, permitted the chance to grow up and become a real nuisance to Icelandic fishing. Don't think he'd ever reconnect with his uncles, as written, because they were always only peripherally bonded to him.

Aww he is so cute, I love his facial markings. Also like how the background is kind of stormy/foggy. Its pretty.
