Normally I am not fond of pictures taken from behind, neither of animals nor birds nor persons and especially not of horses, but this photo is an exception. For the life of me I cannot imagine why your friend paid you to take her portrait from behind. Perhaps that is why the photo works; instead of showing us your friend, it shows us what your friend saw: an indistinct far shore, a large lake, and a few ducks. She is complete in her own thoughts. Are you telling us that she was not paying attention to the ducks and therefore you made them indistinct? I doubt that. I am glad that you did not just stick your friend in the center of the picture. That might have been nice for her, but boring for us. It cannot be all about her, after all. That is what most would have done, but because they are too lazy to do any better. There has to be some reason for us to bother looking at your picture. A gallery is not just a photo album. We do not have to look at everything just because we opened the album. So you give us a pleasant unbalanced view of life. I am glad you did not blur the foreground, as is so often overused, just because it is easy to do. It is good that you waited until the horse was looking at the ducks. Next time get them in focus, increase your depth of field and slow down the shutter speed. It is not hard to do. With the ducks in focus; they would have given a much better balance to the picture.

What a beautiful photo! I love the way the subject is in focus, but the beautiful scene she is viewing is a little softer. The horse is watching the ducks 
It gives the appearance of a painting.
