tThis bird was getting ready to take off in flight on Pensacola Beach Florida.* This one went to the SEMO District Fair 2009. It received a 2nd place ribbon !!

Now that's a great shot! Any idea what kind of bird it is?
There are two that like the shallow lake in my complex, but I haven't gotten a picture of them yet, and it sure doesn't help that they're camera shy!
As for an advanced Critique, I can't say your shot is at all bad, maybe except for the fact that it's off-center, but I imagine that's because you had a moving subject. Your lighting, timing, angle, and all else, from my uneducated eye, seems pretty darn perfect, considering this was probably a very opportunistic shot. In any event, that's a bootiful burdie.
