Have thought for a long time how to describe in a more technical and scientific manner what makes the X-Wing and Y-wing so appealing to me. Still can't pin words on that. Something about them just 'works' in the artistic and industrial design realm.
They and most other Star Wars craft do well at suspending the disbelief, I look at them and part of me says "There is no reason this can not be real".
