Sooooooooo...on with my Adel obsession.He really REALLY is fun to draw. Like. Not even. Sorry seymour--but drawin you isn't as fun as drawing Adel is. : 0
I am surprised that not many people have attempted to draw him. I mean, you might be like "he's not awesome", but you haven't really tried drawing him Sure he looks funky in the game---but hell--Ultimecia looked funky too with her bad pixelated model. Except people here draw her and make her look awesome.
So I have made myself a promise that I will make Adel look awesome too, and spam DA's gallery with awesome Adelness. (even though I'm well over 10 years behind)
And this one was an attempt at a desktop background type of picture. And I took more time on the colouring so it's not as bad as the last one.

The hardest part was surpisngly his wingie thingies(i swear i drew those like ten times til i got them kinda right), and the easiet was his hair. O_o I actually made a major mess up--but it's like---you have to be real knit picky to catch it. (which i hope no one does)
*romantic sigh* Adel. His purple skin reminds me of some Indian god. All he needs is four more arms and DONE. <3 (i have a thing for blue skinned indian gods. 8 0' )

I think i need to start some adel appreciation club so people will like him more. Or maybe have some sort of contest that will make people draw him. And when they draw them they will go through the same revelation i am going through. XD

Ya know, I recently got to thinking... I think the idea that Adel is a woman is part of some sort of translation error.
Maybe it's just me, but Adel looks much too masculine to be a woman. xD

I stated in my previous pictures that if you believe Adel is a she, then cool, I got a lesbian crush on "her".
I don't understand why you people get your panties all tied up in a bunch because I call him a he. It's not like it's killing anyone or messing up the entire game. Like calling Zidane a she will totally mess up the whole storyline.

No, I just believe Adel is a he. Squaresoft (back when it was still cool) used history as reference for their own stories. Who's to say they did not outsource to the Egyptians and the way the Queens would act as Kings, dress as them, and even be referred to as "he's"? Who's to say Adel isn't a male sorcerer who is following the sorceress tradition by being referred to as a she and dressing like a girl?
We don't know---unless you know someone who worked for that game who can tell me directly that they didn't. In the case that one day someone with credibility does come up to me and say he is a girl, then I will accept it and throw my hands up in defeat.
Until then, there is that possibility Adel can be a male.

I used photoshop cs4. I ran out of watercolours recently so photoshop is the only thing i got right now.

Adel, wonder artwork of he/she. I've always been confused if Adel was a man or a woman. Because ... well, he has the chest of a man and the arms of a man, but in the game .. they Adel a she. So I'm confused. Probably more confused then Kuja and his gender bending clothes.

haha. Yeah. It struck me as odd first. But i'm thinking, it might be like in the old egyptian times. Pharoahs are always men, so when there was a female pharoah, she wore a beard and was addressed by the people as a "he". So I'm guessing Adel is like, the first male sorcerer, but to keep the tradition, they call him a her?

They do say in game that it is a she. I don't think they would let a mistake like that fly, being such a powerful company

Well we speculate it's like when an egyptian queen is in reign. She used to be called "He" and "His" and even wore a beard. So I'm guessing Adel is the male version of that, yiou know, being called a "she" even though its a guy.
And square probably did do their research on this, or it could have been a translation error.

Did they say they used egyptian history as a reference? o.O I really don't think square would let that error slide lol. My theory is that, following final fantasy VII with all of its likable villains, square commissioned Amano to create a sorceress that people could not easily relate to thus a crazy manish woman.

and if that is so, then it doesn't make sense that adel is the only unlikable villain in the game because seifer's pretty hot himself and ultimecia is a sex goddess for all the guys. unless they made adel to please all the weird manish women people
