Description *This is the newer design. Sleeker, more realistic, less awkward then my original design. If you would like to see the original piece for comparison, click here [link]

R.P. stands for REALITY POKEDEX:[link]

I was in drawing club at school, and I didn't feel like drawing Sonic (GASP!) so I picked up a pencil and began to sketch pikachu. I soon got bored with that, and decided to start over, but take a more realistic approach. The eventual product was a pikachu as though it were real. Also depicted here are Pichu and Raichu. To better visualize the life of this strange animal I came up with a bio of the wild "Chu" to fit what it looks like:

Pokedex: Pokemon in question: Chu's. Pichu-#172, Pikachu-#25, Raichu-#26
A chu is a large wild mouse, a member of a peculiar type of animal called Pocket Monsters (Pokemon for short). All Pokemon are born from eggs, and harbor special abilities. Chus for example can build, store, and control static electricity to ward off attackers and catch prey, though they are mostly peaceful herbavores. They live anywhere from thick forests to wide valleys, and are often found in large groups. When first born, a chu (at this age called a Pichu) has little to no control of its abilities and may shock itself in an attempt to use its potential power. They are small, and the younger they are the more black baby fur they have. Throughout their entire lives, they have black fur surrounding their eyes to shade them from the sun, similar to a merekat. As the Pichu grows older, its black fur yellows along with the rest of its fur, and its light red cheeks become brighter. The brighter the tone of the fur on a chu's cheeks, the more electricity it can store. When the pichu's tail has grown 4 times its original size, it begins to hold it in a crooked fashion. Its large floppy ears do not grow, and now they appear more like rabbit ears against the more mature skull. When the pichu has reached this stage in its life, it is known as a Pikachu. Pikachus are quicker, stronger, and smarter than their younger brothers, and are thus burdened with the task of taking care of the myschievous mice. Finally, when the Pikachu have reached a certain age, (indicated by a change in fur color, specifically the electric sacks turn yellow, and their fur turns orange) they go through a special rite of passage specific to this species of pokemon. Being intelligent creatures, Chus know key parts of their body which they can modify for a more efficient use of their abilities. They then use special jagged stones, called Thunder stones, to shave and crop their ears, paws, and tail. With all the excess fur gone, the Pikachu is swifter and doesn't need to waste its energy on supporting its weighty fur. When the ritual is completed, they are known thereafter as Raichus. This is an indication of their strength and wisdom. Some outcast Pikachus are hasty with their "evolution" and prematurely crop themselves. While they do become stronger, this bars them from ever learning their specie's most powerful attack, Thunder. Some people who capture and train these creatures, Pokemon Trainers, choose not to force their Pikachu through the rite by not imposing a Thunder stone on them, as some Pikachus are skeptic about changing their identity. This act of empathy is virtually costless, as a Pikachu may still reach its full potential without going through the rite, but its older counterparts will never have the same respect they would have for it had it gone through the right, though that may prove unwise, for time and time again it has been proven that it does not matter at what stage in its life a chu is on, for even a Pichu may surprise you by taking down even the most skilled of its elders.

I personally liked doing this alot, and I would like to do even more! If you want to see another one of these, comment which pokemon you would like to see become realistic!
