Mikael Akerfeldt from the band Opeth. I put this in Portraits rather than Fanart because... well, I thought it would belong more in Portraits. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's my first proper attempt at realistic painting. I haven't tried something like this before, so it was interesting to see how it came out.

I used Matisse Derivan acrylics on canvas board.

The Derivan paints were quite different compared to the paint I usually use, as Matisse Derivan acrylics are professional quality (I got them as a prize), whereas Chromacryl acrylics are lower quality student paints. I found that the Derivan ones dried faster and were actually a little harder to work with. But I like the effect that eventually came out of that hard work.

Enough about paints; this took me about 2 - 3 days to complete. Limit the criticism please, since the work is finished and done.
