Description
“In my green garden
The willow has been weeping:
The branches hang broken
Now the sun is sleeping.
In my green garden
Summer left us naked.
In the long cold winter
The colours have all faded.
Waiting in the hours of darkness,
Waiting for birds to sing,
Waiting for the Earth’s orbit
To bring back spring.
Wake up, sleepy Sun,
Take away my sorrow.
It’s time you rise again
From the shadows.
We are waiting in the hours of darkness,
Waiting for birds to sing,
Waiting for the Earth’s orbit
To bring back spring,
Bring back spring,
Bring back spring.”
[ Green Garden – Eivør ]
Boy, have I shot a lot of green this year. The truth is, it’s always been my favourite colour as a child, which I sort of brushed aside once I entered my goth phase. The whole House Tyrell aesthetic obsession is actually a good excuse to reconnect with that.
This is another song I’ve been wanting to render visually for ages. All I needed was the perfect location and an expressive model, which the Parco di Villa Reale and Knajfer are, respectively. I always have a sort of reverential awe approaching Eivør’s music because it’s so emotionally charged and I son’t want to fall short of that, but that perspective was perfect for this concept and I really love how this photo turned out.
