You captured the emotion really well in this drawing! The blue color scheme helps with that as well as the imagery of the character in a bathtub. Excellent job!

Thank you! I just tried to give the figure a good expression, and chik-a-dee did an amazing job with all the background details and the water pooling over and around her.

Is the blue on her dress sort of supposed to resemble a mermaid tail? Because that's kinda instantly what I thought of when I first saw it.

It's actually the shadow of her fiance who (in a fit of unfounded paranoia at the thought of his young bride-to-be being unfaithful to him before their wedding) drowned her.
Now that I look at it again, I can see how you thought it was a mermaid's tail. I'm used to looking at the piece "upside down"
