I love my daughter. It's amazing watching her get older, taller, more agile, smarter. Her language and memory and imitative skills are just booting along. She fills me with awe every day.Hilary sings her a lullaby about a land of make-believe. It always chokes me up and I hope, I really hope, that there will be magic in her childhood memories.
I'm not sure why I did this. It just seemed important.

I've printed out a copy of this for my own scrapbook as well as added it to my favorites site. When I get my gallery set up, the picture I sent you in response to "Magic for Jenny" will be in it. I'm also working on a color version, as well.
I can never get enough of this one - did you ever think of coloring it? Or perhaps expanding it into a book?
As I'm typing this, John Williams' "Flying Sequence" from Superman-The Movie is playing on my laptop. Quite appropriate, don't you think?

That is so sweet. And it is always amazing to watch children grow and learn. Sometimes it is so surprising the things they pick up (this coming from not only a preschool teacher but a mother of a 3 year old).
Your daughter is very lucky to have such a wonderful and devoted father. It is such a pity there isn't a lot of you guys around. ^_~

It IS important. Encouraging a sense of wonder in one's children is the Sacred Duty (and Secret Joy) of every parent. Looks like you and the missus are doing a good job. Keep it up.

I suspect we'll go through a few phases in regards to my line of work:
1: Oblivious (Daa-daaa!)
2: Granted (Doesn't everyone's dad draw cartoons?)
3: Heroworship/Pride (MY Daddy can draw the coolest cartoons! He'll draw one for you if you're my friend!-probably the shortest phase)
4: Granted Again (Yeah, Dad. I know. You draw cartoons)
5: Embarrassment (Uh, no, my Dad's a Hotel Manager. Some other guy name Rich Morris drew that. -probably the longest phase)
6: Total Indifference (Can I borrow the car?)
7: Mild pride (Can I get you draw a picture of Arthur for my kids? - Which will continue into: How much can I get for an original signed 'YAFGC' page? C'mon, the guy's dead! It's gotta be worth something!)
