After Mia found the Chaos Emerald of the Industrial Island Zone, she goes to make her way back to the Jet Ski to return home, only to be stopped by a mysterious grey hedgehog demanding to know where the Chaos Emeralds were. But refusing to tell him where they were, he turned to violence to get the answers from Mia, forming a blade out of Negative energy and goes on the attack. Mia and Midnight speed through the forest exchanging attacks, and when Mia gets backed into a corner and grabbed by her scarf, she uses her lightning boost and scratches one of Midnight's eyes out. Enraging him further. But before the battle could escalate even further, Camo cracks Midnight in the face with his bat, Angela lands a full combo on him, and Cynthia manages to hurt him with exploding feathers. But as the smoke clears, he was gone. Something tells Mia and the others this won't be the last time they see him...
