Saw this again and felt like I needed to comment again, I really like the date written on the top. I know what the date is there for, but it actually makes the picture seem really poignant, especially since it's monochrome. It makes me think of a flashback, with Itoh there remembering "... December 9th."

WOAH. That's the most intense expression I've seen him make. Great job on the face, anatomy, and clothing. The dramatic lighting is a nice touch, as well!
