“You know.. I actually met a pretty girl today,”

“Uh — Okay..?”

“She was really nice, too. It's just that—” Antonio let out a heaved sigh as he finally looked towards at the (Southern) Italian beside him. “—I didn't get to know her name. In fact, she didn't even tell me. I just called her 'Red' considering that she was wearing a red plaid shirt on.”

Romano arched a brow, getting mildly amused by Antonio's little ‘story’. He motioned his hands for him to continue as he sat next to him. “Tell me more.”

The Spaniard blinked once, and then twice, trying to process what the other had just said. “Nothing would really make sense if I didn't tell you the story.”

Romano only shrugged loosely. “We have a lot of time to spare, Tonio,”

“Alright.. But promise me not to tell Emma!” [1]

“Sure. Whatever,”

“I love you,”

“The roses make it too cliché, don't you think?”

“Holy shi—”

“Don't cuss!” The female snapped. Almost as if a mother was trying to scold her child in a lecturing way. “It's rude to cuss. Especially in front of a lady, no?”

He turned around to see a woman about his age. She seemed.. rather calm. He didn't really know how to describe her, actually. She wore a simple red plaid shirt with skinny jeans, messy hair tied in a pony tail, she didn't wear much make up, too (she had a lipstick and an eyeliner on, though). And to top it all of she wore heels — which was kind of odd, considering that Antonio was actually expecting for her to wear sneakers. Perhaps fashion wasn't really her thing.

“I'm sorry—” He apologized, as he sat onto the park bench not too far from him and set the flower of roses beside him. The girl hadn't said anything, however. She only sat at the small space of the bench next to him. “—I didn't really expect a person.. to see me or anything.”

“We're in the park,” She dead-panned. He winced slightly at the sound of her tone. “We're completely in the open. Though, there's not much people around.. Which is a shame, considering that it was such a nice day today..”

Antonio nodded his head slowly. His gaze was met towards her, his emerald green eyes boring into [e/c] ones. He immediately looked away, making the female stare at him confusedly. Though, she didn't seem to mind as she said nothing at all, her red lips sealed.

He cleared his throat, grabbing the girl's attention. “Do you really think that the roses.. make it too cliché?”

She only shrugged. “I don't know. For me, it does. Are you proposing?”

“Oh God — No, no! There's still a lot of time to think about that..”

“Are you confessing, then?”

He nodded as he smiled sheepishly. “Y-Yeah,”

“Oh?” She leaned in closer, getting rather engrossed. He didn't know why she would be so interested in his love life, but he didn't really mind telling her about it. “Does she or he have a name?”

“Emma,” He replied. “Her name is Emma.”

“What a pretty name she has!” She beamed. How odd, Antonio thought. Just not too many minutes ago the girl seemed as if she had crawled back from Hell. But her sudden bubbly personality busted out, giving him a slight surprise. Not that he had complaints, though. It just seemed a bit.. off. He very much appreciated her optimism, or at least he think it is. “Do you mind if you tell me more about her?”

“No, not at all!” He smiled. “Ah — Where do I even start? She's very lovely, sweet, and caring.. She's been there with me.. For as long as I could remember, actually. Emma has always made me smile — I.. I just love her very much. But I haven't told her yet.. So, here I am.”

“Then I'm sure she'll love the roses.” She said, letting out a small smile.

Antonio looked at the roses beside him and chuckled. But the laughter was soon silenced as the guilt had struck upon him. It was one of those nervous feeling in which you were unsure if your beloved would say 'no' or 'yes'. “Do you think she'll say yes?”

“Think?” She repeated, giving the word a slight sass in her tone. “I know so! You have been together as long as you could remember, right? Why would she ever say no?”

“Aha.. I suppose you're right on that.”

The woman let out a laugh as a smile was formed on her lips. “Well then—” She stood up. “I suppose it's my time to leave. I don't want your soon-to-be-girlfriend seeing us here talking together and getting the wrong idea.”

“Before you go, what is your name?”

“When the next time we meet, I'll tell you!”

“Wait!” The girl stopped her tracked and tilted her head slightly. He gulped and then spoke. “How are you sure that we will meet again?”

“I don't know. But I'm sure someday we will — let fate rest upon it!”

And with that, she was gone as he watched her figure disappear. He smiled.

“Someday.. We will meet again, Red.”

“Huh.” Those were the only words that escaped Romano's mouth as he had finished listening to Antonio's little story. But then a tint of curiosity was shown in his eyes and he had finally began speaking again. “So when do you think that you and.. Miss Red will meet again?”

“I really don't know. But I guess I'll have to leave fate on that.”

A light knock was heard on the door as both men watched the door creaked open to reveal a woman with shoulder-length blonde hair and a familiar smile. It was indeed, with no doubt, Emma.

“Hey guys! Did I miss something?”

“We were just actually talking about a friend of Antonio's,” Romano replied.

“Oh really? Will I ever meet this 'friend' of yours, Antonio?” Emma asked curiously.

Though, Antonio only smiled and shrugged and replied with a: “Someday.”
