Hello!! I am alive! Here is a face dump to prove it!
The character faces at the top were done shortly before I left on vacation.... some of the ones towards the bottom were done last year. And if you look in the bottom left hand corner you will find the first picture I ever drew of Emrah. Hehe! Poor Emrah! Lol! Done at the very beginning of 2011. Thought I would scrape a few of my doodles together for you! Ronin's look still escapes my abilities.... though I have a redraw started. His face is too... narrow (in the jaw)? It isn't as manly as I would like! Lol!
The creature thing towards the bottom right... I have no idea where he came from! Haha! I must have been having a bad day! Lol! XD

Well, I still have A LOT to learn. 
I think the key is to not get discouraged (which can be hard to avoid) and be persistent. Draw every day. And try to improve something with every picture you draw. And, also we must realize that, even still, we will grow at different rates. Some people have naturally better in-born fine motor skills, or hand-eye coordination. But, just because it doesn't come super natural, doesn't mean you can't learn or teach your body to develop these. Right?
I was told to study features and to not be afraid to use references. Great advice! I find myself, when talking to people, studying their features and how they change as they turn or talk. I try to look natural though, because if they knew they were a subject study they probably would quit talking to me. Haha!
For me, since I am mathematically minded, I had to break down proportions mathematically.
Anyway, I have a folder in my favorites for tutorials and things. There are so many good helps here on DA! Honestly, I really don't think I would have kept up drawing if it wasn't for all the help I found on here.

I also agree with you, the amazing artists had to start from somewhere..
and to be honest, the old work they did in the beginning..
is what really inspires me to watch them! The work they do now
is a great inspiration, but the first step is always so important
to see!

Your so right, some people can improve in 6 months..others take a year and a
few months....but after a while, the brain and hands catch up to each other.lol
LOL.. the reference thing killed me..haha...but watching people
in live perspective is actually a good thing.
Oh your a math person..lol I hate...or should I say DISLIKE math..lol
but I guess it works out becaus eI still like using it on
a daily basis~

VERY discerning. Haha! She rarely wastes her time on anyone actually. She really is good underneath. You just have to get to know her. And of course, that will only happen if she, for some reason, allows it. Hahaha! XD
Weellll, it was actually a mustache but.... Yes. It wasn't someone at a show. When I was young (I dunno, 9-years-old-ish) an older lady came into the shoe department where we were shopping with my mom. She had a pink mustache. Yes. Pink. I have no idea what that was about. But my brother, sister and I all got the look of warning from my mom. You know, the one that basically says, "if you say anything right now, I'll kill you!" Hahaha! I can say from experience that pink facial hair is not real manly. Not real girly either... I don't know what it is! Haha!
Your sister is so lucky!! I have always wanted to see one! But none ever visit here! I can understand how you would feel robbed!

Perhaps she was a man who turned into a woman...or perhaps she was just making the most of an unfortunate situation, all I can say is, she must have been really brave to go out like that

Honestly teh liens as he is are great, manly withuout being too much. Have you tried to draw him first without his beard and see after how it does look?
