Hikari is Tatsuya's closest friend. He's actually forbidden Tatsuya to talk about anything related to idols because he hears about them ALL THE TIME and he's just plain uninterested.

Except that the whole joke around the creation of Hikari is that he's constantly surrounded by idols and has mastered the skill of complete ignorance. He's employed where the high school trio attends classes and sees them frequently, but has miraculously never put two and two together to figure out what they do outside of school. He's just tired all the time.
